        "rendered": "<p>London, November 2025 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/members.parliament.uk\/member\/2005\/contact\" title=\"Baroness Gloria Dorothy Hooper, CMG\">Baroness Hooper, CMG<\/a>, has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of the Republic of Peru, the nation\u2019s most prestigious civilian distinction. Established in 1821 by General Jos\u00e9 de San Mart\u00edn, the Order of the Sun is the oldest decoration of its kind in the Americas, symbolising Peru\u2019s independence and cultural heritage. The Grand Cross is conferred upon individuals who have rendered exceptional service in diplomacy, education, and international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baroness Hooper\u2019s distinguished career spans decades of public service. Trained as a lawyer, she served as Member of the European Parliament for Liverpool before being elevated to the House of Lords in 1985, where she held ministerial responsibilities in Education, Energy, and Health. A longstanding advocate of Latin American relations, she notably founded<a href=\"https:\/\/britishschoolquito.edu.ec\/es\" title=\" the British School of Quito\"> the British School of Quito<\/a> and continues her legacy as Patron of <a href=\"https:\/\/futured.university\/en\/\" title=\"The FuturED Institute\">The FuturED Institute<\/a>, promoting educational innovation and intercultural dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony, presided over by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ignacio-higueras-hare-4b04a1309\/?originalSubdomain=uk\" title=\"H.E. Ignacio Higueras Hare\">H.E. Ignacio Higueras Hare<\/a>, Ambassador of Peru to the United Kingdom, was attended by distinguished guests, among them <a href=\"http:\/\/linkedin.com\/in\/d\u00e1vila-y-verdin?originalSubdomain=uk\" title=\"Juan D\u00e1vila y Verdin\">Juan D\u00e1vila y Verdin<\/a>, Founder and CEO of The FuturED Institute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This honour not only celebrates Baroness Hooper\u2019s remarkable trajectory but also highlights the enduring importance of cultural diplomacy, educational leadership, and institutional partnerships in strengthening global cooperation.<\/p>",
