The FuturED Institute, an international institute based in Monaco and the United Kingdom, is proud to celebrate the award of the Hirmina Prize, a distinction that recognises educational projects with social and environmental impact, developed from and for communities.
On this occasion, our founder and director, Juan Dávila y Verdin, visited a school committed to change, which has been recognised for its Acción Amparo programme, an initiative that combines environmental education, climate justice and direct action. Through the school carbon voucher and the Carbon Communities platform, this project demonstrates that it is possible to educate for sustainability from a concrete, participatory and transformative perspective.
During the visit, it was the students themselves who shared the extent of their actions:
- Carbon footprint measurement at events and other schools.
- Participation in solidarity practices with the Food Bank.
- Active participation in citizen participation spaces, such as the Youth Council.
These experiences reflect an educational model that not only teaches about the world, but also acts to change it.
The Hirmina Prize does not seek to reward perfect results, but rather courageous, creative and committed to the reality that surrounds us. It recognises those who educate with conscience and act with hope.
From The FuturED Institute, we renew our conviction: education is a powerful tool for sustainable development, and when combined with the active participation of young people and communities, it can sow real transformations.
Thank you for inspiring us. And congratulations for demonstrating that another way of educating, caring and transforming is possible.
