London, December 2025 | The FuturED Institute took part as an observer in the SIDS Partnership Lab: Advancing Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digitalisation through Higher Education in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), one of the core and priority sessions of the 2025 Global Multi-Stakeholder SIDS Partnership Dialogue, held on 12 December 2025 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

This thematic lab stood out as one of the most relevant components of the Dialogue, as it focused specifically on the strategic role of higher education in driving sustainable development across Small Island Developing States. Discussions throughout the session explored innovative approaches to strengthening local capacities through science, technology, innovation and digitalisation, highlighting the importance of academic and multi-stakeholder partnerships tailored to the specific realities of SIDS.

The FuturED Institute’s presence in this space enabled close engagement with discussions on international cooperation, knowledge exchange and the development of resilient educational ecosystems, in line with the principles set out in the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS).

This engagement reaffirms The FuturED Institute’s commitment to advancing higher education as a key lever for innovation, reducing structural gaps and contributing to sustainable solutions in highly vulnerable contexts, while further consolidating its participation in high-level international forums aligned with the global development agenda.
