During a recent meeting in Panama, The FuturED Institute and the Organisation of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in education, innovation, sustainability, and capacity building across Ibero-America.

The meeting brought together Juan Dávila y Verdin, representing The FuturED Institute, and Sherryl Girón, Programme and Projects Coordinator at the OEI National Office in Panama.

With headquarters in Madrid and a presence in all 23 Ibero-American countries, the OEI is one of the region’s leading multilateral organisations, promoting cooperation in education, science, culture, innovation, and sustainable development. Through its office in Panama, the organisation supports initiatives that strengthen educational systems, institutional capacities, and regional cooperation.

Recognising their shared commitment to advancing educational opportunities and institutional development, both organisations discussed potential areas of collaboration, including executive education, leadership development, higher education transformation, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, employability, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

The discussions also explored opportunities to promote academic exchanges, international immersion programmes, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and activities designed to strengthen institutions and prepare current and future leaders for the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.

The meeting reflects the commitment of both organisations to fostering international cooperation and developing innovative educational initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and capacity building throughout the Ibero-American region.
