The FuturED Institute is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Taborín Women’s Rugby Team, which was crowned South American Club Champion at the 2026 South American Club Championship held in Santiago, Chile on 28–29 March. The Córdoba-based team delivered an exceptional performance, securing the title with victories against Círculo de Tenis (Uruguay, 17–14), a local combined side (28–0), and Minotauros (Colombia, 17–0). As Argentina’s sole representative competing alongside teams from Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Costa Rica, and Chile, Taborín’s success marks a remarkable trajectory, evolving from finishing second or third in South America to being champions in the last two years, a testament to sustained excellence and strategic adaptation, particularly as the team navigated this year’s twelve-a-side format.
This victory is particularly meaningful as it represents the culmination of a three-year international partnership between The FuturED Institute and the Foundation Princess Charlene of Monaco, which has supported multiple Argentine women’s rugby clubs since 2023 to 2026. The initiative has combined financial assistance, access to training resources, and professional development opportunities, enabling teams across the region to strengthen their competitive capacity and institutional sustainability.
What distinguishes Taborín’s achievement is the club’s commitment to holistic development. Beyond the senior team’s triumph, Taborín presented a youth squad that also claimed the championship title in junior categories, signalling a multi-generational approach to building sustainable excellence in women’s rugby.
At The FuturED Institute, we recognise that sport is a transformative space for leadership development, resilience, and social impact. Through our International Women’s Rugby Support and Development Program, developed in partnership with the Foundation Princess Charlene of Monaco, we support teams and athletes across Latin America who embody these values.
Taborín’s South American championship is a testament to the power of dedicated coaching, strategic vision, and a culture that invests in women’s participation in sport. Their success resonates with our core belief: that education and opportunity extend far beyond the classroom, and that women’s leadership in sport drives meaningful social transformation across communities.
We congratulate Taborín on this outstanding achievement and remain committed to supporting women’s rugby initiatives throughout the region.
